• San Juan, Puerto Rico the weekend of February 22, and to Vieques for diving beginning Tuesday, February 26 and returning on Sunday, March 3. There may still be space available, so if you are interested email Bruce Monroe at bmonroe@nyc.rr.com.
● February 2 - 9, 2013. KSA Winter Flotilla 2013. British Virgin Islands. The Knickerbocker Sailing Association's Winter Flotilla consists of chartered live-aboard sailboats crusing the beautiful waters of BVI and enjoying watersports, snorkeling and - if there is interest - scuba diving. If you want more information or want to register, please email villagediveclub@gmail.com and I'll provide more details. The KSA seems to rely on groups of interested people organizing boats and captains - though KSA assists with available boats. If there is enough interest we may be able to put together a VDC boat. If there are a smaller number of interested people, I can help you reach out to the KSA to see if it is possible to fill available spots on other boats.
OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Some Village Dive Club members are looking into organizing a Winter Village Dive Club trip to Puerto Rico for sometime in late February or early March. The very tentative plan is to spend a few days in San Juan and a few days in Vieques diving. If you think you might be interested in the trip, please email villagediveclub@gmail.com.
Also, the Village Dive Club is looking for some new leadership - members who are willing to step into leadership roles, organize meetings, social outings, trips, etc. New ideas are always welcome. If you are interested please let us know, and come to the October 29 meeting.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Diving For Life will be in Curacao at the Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club from September 21-28, 2012. Registration for the trip will likely begin before the end of the year. You'll receive an email from the Village Dive Club, but you can also check out www.divingforlife.org or learn more at their FACEBOOK page.
Three Village Dive Club members also went diving at Lake George with Half Moon Marine diving charters last summer for a weekend. While conditions were somewhat different than Cozumel, it was still some good diving. There will be more local diving opportunities with the Village Dive Club next Summer.
